About Just Kids

Here in “Just Kids” we aim to provide a secure, happy, atmosphere where the children feel safe and cared for and loved.

It is our hope that each child will develop as an individual under our supervision in their own time, through praise and encouragement from the child’s care worker and all the other staff in general. We will provide play and educational equipment that will enable your child to develop all of their skills and heighten their senses.

We will encourage your child to integrate and play with other children on their terms, and teach them the social skills and general life skills which will be beneficial to them throughout their lives.

We understand that you are the child’s parent(s) and that nobody in the world will understand, love, or bond with your child in the same way that only you as a parent can, but we will do our very best to ensure that all of their needs are met to the highest standard during their time with us.

Our Image Of The Child

Here in Just Kids we see each child as a competent, confident learner. We view each child as individual with their own likes, interests, personality, thoughts and feelings. We aim to provide an environment enriched with materials to satisfy every child that comes through the door, and we carry out activities lead by the children in our care, activities aimed to develop all your child’s senses and to satisfy their curiosity.

We work with all the children individually in our care on a daily basis, and we build relations, so that over time we get to know each child, their interests, likes, dislikes etc, which then allows us to further feed on your child’s interests, strengths and weaknesses.

We value each child and the ideas, and contributions that they bring to the group, we give all the children in the group the freedom to make their own decisions, and as we have a play based curriculum the majority of our equipment is put at the child’s level throughout the day giving them the freedom to choose what they want to play with.

We are very aware that each child has needs that we strive to fulfil daily, we understand that children need love, affection, patience, kindness, encouragement, direction and security, they need to feel that their thoughts and opinions are as valuable as the next persons, they need to feel that they are equal regardless of the culture, colour, creed, look etc and your child’s key worker is here to ensure all of your child’s needs are catered to.

Your child’s key worker will liaise with you on a daily basis informing you of activities throughout the day, what your child has eaten etc, also your child’s key worker will act as a positive role model for your child and will lead by example in relation to Health and Nutrition, Hygiene, Manners and social interaction skills etc.

Over all we view each child as a happy, secure confident individual and we aim to support and encourage them in all aspects of their growth during their time with us.
